House set to initiate speaker, dy speaker election process today

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The election process for the new speaker and deputy speaker of the lower house is starting from Monday. After the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) finalized its candidate for the post of speaker, the Parliament Secretariat is planning to initiate the election process for parliament’s chief and deputy.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: With the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) failing to finalize a candidate for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives due to internal disputes, a homework to pick the Deputy Speaker candidate has fallen in the backburner, said leaders of the ruling party.
