KATHMANDU, April 24: The Barbara Adams Investigative Journalism Award 2018 has been jointly awarded to journalists duo Rudra Khadka and Arjun Oli for their series of news reports on the irregularities in the Sikta Irrigation project based in Banke. The stories were published both in Nagarik and Republica dailies.

Pappu ousted from Sikta project

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: The Department of Water Resources and Irrigation has scrapped the contract with Pappu Construction for work on the Sikta Irrigation Project as Pappu has failed to expedite the national pride project as per the agreement.

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: The dispersiveness of soil due to rainwater was not tested while preparing the Sikta Irrigation Project's Detailed Project Report, according to a government report prepared after a two-month-long study into the multiple damages caused to the project.

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has begun interrogating project chiefs, engineers and employees who worked for the Sikta Irrigation Project, a project of national pride, since its inception.
