ILAM, July 31: Introduction of the semester system in masters' level programs by Tribhuvan University has affected student enrollment in campuses affiliated to it in the hilly districts of the eastern region. In some campuses, the number of enrollment in the masters programs has gone down to zero.

Unlike in annual system of education where teachers predominantly depended on lecture method of teaching and barely engage with students outside the classroom, teachers today are seen in continuous academic engagements from the beginning to the end of academic session. This change started in Tribhuvan University after introduction of semester system in 2014.

There is still no teaching-to-assessment alignment. The attempt to introduce new forms of assessment may have added new misalignments

KATHMANDU, March 14: Two years after the implementation of the semester system in the central departments of Tribhuvan University (TU), the country's oldest university has directed the offices of its deans to implement the system at master's level in all its campuses in Kathmandu Valley from the coming session.
