India, the world’s largest groundwater user, is seeing levels declining across the country with farmers in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan facing the prospect of having no groundwater left for irrigation by 2025.

PALPA, June 4: Gothari Ghari village of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-5 in the district is emptying at a faster pace for want of drinking water, a basic need for life. The village of around 500 families has been reduced to merely 200 in search of places having drinking water.
