DAMAULI, Dec 8: The eastern part of the Mugling-Pokhara road expansion project has witnessed 42 percent progress. The road expansion project is in implementation to widen the Prithvi Highway to four lanes.

KATHMANDU, June 19: The long-awaited blacktopping of the Jorpati-Gokarneshwor-Sundarijal Road, which has been delayed for eight years since its expansion, is now in progress. However, concerns have been raised by locals regarding the road's quality and its vulnerability to quick deterioration, especially during the upcoming rainy season. Daily commuters have been enduring transportation difficulties due to the rough and unpaved condition of the road.

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: During the expansion of the Narayangadh-Gondrang six-lane road, dozers are going to be operated in the houses within the road boundary. Division Road Office Bharatpur is going to use a dozer to demolish houses.

Locals of Balaju ward no. 16 have started a relay fast from Saturday. They are protesting against demolition of houses done without any basis or information. Moreover, the Supreme Court had issued an order on Chaitra 8, 2073 BS not to enter the house-yard, occupy it unauthorized and demolish it until the issue is resolved through discussion.

KATHMANDU, Dec 4: The ruling of a full bench of the Supreme Court a year ago concerning the Kalimati-Nagdungua road section has halted road widening work that has been going on in Kathmandu Valley for nearly a decade. Government officials state that the roads in Kathmandu and elsewhere will not be widened now. The ruling by justices Kedar Prasad Chalise, Hari Krishna Karki and Purushottam Bhandari simply requires the government to adhere to the Land Acquisition Act regarding compensation while acquiring private land.
