JHIMRUK, March 25: Pyuthan collecting details of foreign returnees. The nine local government units in Pyuthan have begun collecting the details of the people who recently returned home from abroad. Two municipalities and seven rural municipalities have started the work in wake of the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
BUTWAL, Sept 7: Pyuthan District Hospital received the permission to have 50 beds three years ago. However, the congested and dilapidated building of the hospital does not have more than 25 beds. Though it has a quota for eight doctors, the hospital is dependent on just three doctors for long now. The absence of pediatrician, gynecologist, orthopedic surgeon and general surgeon, among the health experts of the other sectors fall hard on service seekers. The hospital does not have even an accountant which has affected the purchase of drugs and necessary equipment.
PYUTHAN, April 20: The building of Khawang Health Post in Pyuthan district should have been completed by 2014, as per the agreement reached with the contractor. However, the contractor left the project halfway to join politics and has remained contactless since then.

PYUTHAN, June 28: Petroleum pump operators in the district have filed a complaint at the police, stating that fuel theft during transport was on the rise. They said that supplies that pumps receive are lower than what the Nepalgunj depot of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) dispatches.
PYUTHAN, May 13: The bus driver, Bir Bahadur Tharu from Kailali, was one of the five killed in a bus accident that injured 25 others. The bus (Na 4 Kha 1876) was en route to Khalanga, Pyuthan from Mahendranagar when it veered 200 meters off the road at Pakuri Khola-4 of Saruma Rani rural municipality.

PYUTHAN, July 27: The death toll from landslides that hit the district has climbed 24 after seven more persons died in a landslide on Wednesday. 17 persons were confirmed dead till yesterday afternoon.

GORKHA/DANG, July 5: Massive landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have killed 11 people -- eight in Pyuthan and three in Gorkha district -- over the past two days. The landslides occurred in Gorkha on Tuesday and in Pyuthan on Monday.
