KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Professors of Tribhuvan University (TU) have staged a protest against the lockout by the Nepal Students Union stating that 200 days have passed since the office of the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University has been locked.
In his book What the Best College Teachers Do Ken Bain says that professors are ‘university-based top-ranked expert academicians’ to extend then enforce knowledge and virtues. In Nepal too, professors are co-positioned with the first-class bureaucrats in merit. Such a distinguished position automatically attracts intense gravity. They are expected to be involved in academic excellence, knowledge, studies and research.

BARDIYA, March 31: Professors and lecturers at the Guransh Multiple Campus went on strike from Thursday onwards and stopped attending classes as part of their protest against the campus management which has failed to provide them salaries in the past five months due to financial crunch.
KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Seven professors at the Institute of Medicine (IoM) on Thursday registered a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding annulment of the 'illegal order' issued by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to Tribhuvan University to take action against them.
