KATHMANDU, July 15: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court on Sunday challenging a provision of the House of Representatives Act, 2018 that prohibits suspending lawmakers even after facing charges on criminal offenses.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: The government has registered a bill in parliament, specifying the allowance and other perks and benefits each provincial governor will be entitled to in the new federal set up.  Deputy Prime Minister and Local Development Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar registered the bill in the House on Monday.

KATHMANDU, September 7: The State Affairs Committee (SAC) under the Legislature-Parliament has begun discussions in principles on the bill drafted regarding the privileges to Ex-VVIPs on Thursday. Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma had briefed the meeting regarding the provisions of the bill to provide the privileges to former VVIPs.
