KATHMANDU, March 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged all the Nepalis to stay indoor considering the sensitive circumstances stemming from the pandemic COVID-19 and save one’s previous life as well as one’s family. Issuing a message here today in the context of minimizing spread of COVID-19, President Bhandari appealed for complete compliance with the code of conduct and directives issued by the authorized agencies of the government so as to contain the outbreak of the deadly virus.

On Friday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari unveiled the government’s policies and programs for this fiscal year at the Federal Parliament. The focus was on completing construction of long-stalled national pride projects on time, human resource development and maintaining rule of law in the country. She announced that the government will generate 500,000 employment opportunities in the upcoming fiscal year, Mid-Hill Highway will be constructed within four years, Gautam Buddha Airport and Pokhara International Airport will come into operation by 2019 and 2021 respectively and 300 suspension bridges will be constructed in the upcoming fiscal year.

It is also true that her only predecessor President Ram Baran Yadav visited the communist country up north twice but was not accorded a state visit status. Beyond that there is little to go overboard, unlike what Nepal Communist Party (NCP) government headed by KP Oli’s wants people to accept.
