KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has revised its Proportional Representation (PR) list following an instruction by the Election Commission (EC) for the same.  The RJPN has replaced Renu Sharma with Narmaya Dhakal in the list.

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Although the provision of proportional representation (PR) category was introduced in the constitution to ensure the representation of backward and marginalized communities in the parliament, political parties have been found grossly misusing the provision. The parties have repeatedly recommended the names of the leaders from the elite class as many as four times, against the spirit of inclusive representation.

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The Election Commission (EC) has announced the winners of the provincial assemblies elected under the proportional representation (PR) category. Altogether 220 members of provincial assemblies have been elected under PR category.

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday concluded the counting of Proportional Representation (PR) votes cast in the parliamentary and provincial polls held recently. Poll results show the CPN-UML, which bagged the most seats under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system, got the highest number of votes under the PR category as well.

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Vote counting for Proportional Representation electoral system under Federal Parliament and Provincial Assemblies concluded on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The Election Commission (EC) has completed counting the proportional representation (PR) votes of 65 of the total 77 districts till Thursday evening.

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav's daughter-in-law Pramila Kumari is contesting the upcoming elections on a CPN (Maoist Center) ticket. Pramila has been fielded as a provincial assembly candidate of the party under the Proportional Representation category.
