KANCHANPUR, July 21: Two artificial ponds have been created in Singhapur community forest in Krishnapur municipality. The ponds were created to facilitate drinking water for the protected wildlife in the forest.
Locals here believe that the temple is related to the king Birat of Mahabharat since the place is very close to the remains of Bhediyari, the believed capital of Matchya kingdom ruled by king Birat. Professor Dr Som Prasad Khatiwada says that inside the cremation area are the remains of Rani Math related to the Malini, the beloved of King Salahesh, a folk legend.
KHOTANG, June 4: The municipality office of Khotehang has started a conservation campaign for Indreni pond. According to chairperson of Khotehang Rural Municipality, Pradeep Rai, conservation and promotion of the pond is essential for tourism development.
KATHMANDU, April 16: Devotees have thronged the Matatirtha Kunda or the sacred pond since morning today at Chandragiri Municipality to take a holy bath and make offerings in the name of their deceased mothers.

KALAIYA, August 28: A six-year-old boy missing for the past 14 hours has been found dead in a pond. Kanhaiya Sah, son of Ram Bijaya Sah of Kalaiya sub metropolis - 20, went missing at 5 pm on Saturday evening.
JUMLA, Jan 30: Snow-fed irrigation ponds installed in Jumla district have managed to collect considerable amount of snow due to the recent snowfall. Farmers would be able to use the pond for irrigation purpose.
