KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Three different bills-- Police Adjustment Bill-2076, Bill related to Work Execution, Supervision and Coordination of to Nepal Police and Provincial Police -2076 and Environment Protection Bill-2076 have been passed.

Landmark legal reform bills passed

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: In a landmark move toward legal reforms, parliament on Wednesday unanimously passed two out of six pending bills to replace the 164 years old Muluki Ain (Civil Code). The Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, Civil Code, Civil Procedure Code, Sentencing Act and Some Nepal Acts Amendment bills, once endorsed, will replace the Muluki Ain, which was introduced by Rana Prime Minister Jung Bahadur in 1853.

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The Legislature Parliament passed the Criminal Code 2074 on Wednesday.  The Parliament brought the new code in order to update the criminal law which was earlier based on the amendment of Civil Code-2021.
