KATHMANDU, July 14: At a time when Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is on the verge of splitting, the two factions in the party are engaged in a tug of war to pull leaders who have not disclosed their loyalty to either faction to their side.

KATHMANDU, July 11: Although the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has not formally split yet, the party is clearly divided into two factions. This is manifested by the fact that all leaders close to the party’s Federal Council Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai have stopped visiting the party office in Balkumari.

KATHMANDU, July 7: Both the establishment and rival factions of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) have called separate meetings of the party’s Central Committee on the same date.

In the one-on-one talks between Bhattarai and Yadav, the two agreed to go their separate ways by resolving disputes within the party.

KATHMANDU, August 30: The CPN-UML on Sunday issued a circular to people’s representatives against standing in favor of the party split.

KATHMANDU, August 24: Chairman of the proposed CPN (Unified Socialist) party, Madhav Kumar Nepal has claimed that CPN-UML leader Ashtalakshmi Shakya had become the Chief Minister (CM) of Bagmati Province  as per his wish and suggestion “but she is in a dilemma now”.
