The 220/132/33 kV capacity Basantpur substation built at an altitude of 2,450 meters above sea level has been officially charged and brought into operation by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

MAKWANPUR, Dec 23: Hetauda cement factory that was closed down for around one month has resumed operations. The factory stopped after its pre filter fan and electric motor broke down, said the factory’s Deputy General Manager Nabin Kumar Karna, adding that it resumed operation from Thursday after a repair.

KATHMANDU, April 21: The Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA), also a national pride project built in Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province, has formally come into operation from today. This is the second international airport in the country after the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: New Modi (Parbat)-Laha Chowk (Kaski) 132 kV double circuit transmission line has come into operation. The construction of the new Modi-Laha Chowk section under the New Modi-Lekhnath Transmission Line Project has been completed and is operational from Wednesday. The line has been charged by connecting a 30 MVA power transformer at a 132/33 kV substation in Laha Chowk. Electricity supply will be provided to Machhapuchhre and Annapurna rural municipalities of Kaski from the completed substation.
KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Both the power transformers at the 132/11 KV Bharatpur substation at Baseni in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan have come into operation. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also supplied electricity to industries in Bharatpur area from Sunday evening after the transformers became fully operational.
DHANUSHA, Jan 18: The much talked-about Janakpur-Jayanagar Railway is coming into operation from the second week of February. Nepal Railway Company General Manager Guru Bhattarai said the necessary preparations for the operation of the railway service have reached the final phase and it would be started from the second week of the next month.
Khotang, Sept 17: The District Administration Office in Khotang has requested public vehicle operators to run theirvehicles with one passenger in a row. The decision passed by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday has allowed the vehicles to resume public vehicle service that had been halted to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in order to prevent and control the transmission of the virus, the DAO has requested the vehicle operators to resume the service with less than 50 percent of the seat capacity.
