CHITWAN, Sept 13: The Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan district saw safe delivery of eight expecting mothers infected with COVID-19.

Early pregnancy, unsafe delivery, sex-selective abortion and the lack of health facilities pose a great risk to Bajura’s women.

Patients vent out their anger against the staffers for the lack of beds, doctors, or medicines. Of late, new mothers are seen complaining about the lack of allowances. Even though they are entitled to get Rs 2,000 for delivering a baby at government-run health institutions, new mothers here have not received it for some time.

KATHMANDU, May 26: A study conducted in six selected hospitals across the country receiving the highest expecting mothers has unveiled that many of the expecting mothers and new mothers received nominal counseling on family planning services.
