ROLPA, July 11: Dhanapuri Rokamagar, 61, of Thabang-5 in Rolpa district silently watched the cremation of her two sons on the bank of the Lungri River. Another son and a daughter were being cremated at the same time on the bank of Rapti in Dang district. She lost all four of her children in the tipper truck accident in Mustang Friday. Altogether 20 people were killed in the accident.
The earthquakes of 2015 left many Nepalis in despair. Not only did it leave many people homeless but it also destroyed many of our important heritage sites. And, even today, three years after the massive earthquakes, these precious heritage sites, that speak volumes of our culture and tradition, have not been restored to its original glory. Ek Raj Shivakoti, 28, a cell phone shop owner at Kadaghari in Kathmandu, was spotted at the lost and found department of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku, on Sunday. He went there to follow up the case of his 42 mobile sets which were stolen last October. According to Shivakoti, the total cost of the mobiles sets was about Rs. 500,000 that were looted from his shop at night by breaking the shutter lock.

Forty-three-year old Bhim Parajuli of Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as the mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City. The number of aspirants for the mayoral post was very high in Biratnagar which had recently gained the status of a metropolis. It was not an easy task for Parajuli to convince the leaders of NC to provide him the ticket for the election. Parajuli was born in a middle-class family on April 2, 1975. He is the youngest among five brothers and four sisters. He started his political career since his student days.
