LOS ANGELES, August 22: Without a superhero movie or new studio sequel in play, this weekend provided an opening for two smaller films to shine. But as the weekend draws to a close, one is beaming brighter than the other.

Kathmandu, March 3: Logan starts with the awakening of the main character in utter distress. The young, energetic wolverine is no more so young. His wounds don’t heal and he has no intention of continuing to exist. As the movie develops, the links between the characters unravel, heaving the thick cloud of mystery. It’s 2029 and the mutants are nearly extinct. The old wolverine lives in a hideout around Mexican border along with his companion Caliban and Professor X, whose mighty brain is tormented by worsening seizures.
