KATHMANDU, March 25: The implementation of women’s right to property has pursued a progressive path which is evident from the increment in their ownership of family properties. Women’s access to family properties has increased in the last ten years if the National Census 2021 is to be believed. According to the census, 23.8 percent households have their land and house in women’s name, a 1.1 percent surge as compared to the 2011 census.

34 percent illiterate in Karnali Province

KARNALI, Sept 14: The Ministry of Social Development in Karnali Province has shared statistics that the province has a 34 percent illiteracy rate. This means that 34 percent of people do not have the ability to read and write.

KATHMANDU, Sept 7: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has been declared as a literate metropolis on Monday. According to Ramprada Subedi, chief of Department of Education, Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya claimed that Kathmandu has fulfilled all the criterias needed to declare it as a literate metropolis.

Nepalgunj, May 29: The data collection from various local units relating to literacy rate has been stalled in Banke district, further delaying the district in finding out the literacy among its people and declaring it a literate one.
