BAJURA, Aug 11: The new local level offices are for more convenience of the people. However, these offices are still in a mess due to the lack of infrastructures and policies. And this has affected government services in more than one ways. For instance, medicine procurement procedure has been delayed, say the officials concerned. The District Treasury Controller Office had already sent the required budget to the local bodies including the salaries and allowance of the local body staff on July 2.
KATHMANDU, July 31: During the discussion today, seeking amendment in the bill, lawmaker Dhruba Wagle opined that the local level could be given the rights to decide on production of electricity up to 10 mega watt. Similarly, Bharat Kumar Saha said only the Office of the Auditor General could not handle the auditing of the local levels.
The 2011 census showed a negative growth rate in 27 of the 75 districts of Nepal for the 2001-2011 intercensal period. Previous censuses showed no district with negative growth rate. Of the 27 districts, eight are Mountain and 19 are Hill districts.

JHAPA, July 3: Rastriya Prajatantra Party(RPP) has registered second win in the local level elections. Rabindra Lingden has been elected as the chief of Haldibari rural Municipality in Jhapa district. Lingden won the election by obtaining 3943 votes, compared to 3543 votes garnered by his nearest rival CPN –UML Manju Sitaula.
