The other day I read a Facebook post which said “I saw a guy at Starbucks.  He had no smartphone, tablet or laptop. He just sat there drinking his coffee like a psychopath.”  This really threw me back. Actually, I was troubled and shocked at the thought of someone who did not know the reality of the situation.  It made me think twice what this world had come to.  Not more than 30 years ago and even now in some parts of our country that’s exactly what people do in a coffee shop—sit and enjoy a cup of coffee without the distraction of modern-day gadgets.

DUBAI, 25 March: Dubai International Airport and its flag carrier Emirates began implementing a ban on laptops and tablets on direct flights to the US Saturday, on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

We’ve all been there. You’re in a meeting, or on the road, or in a classroom, and you find, to your horror, that your laptop is nearly dead. Maybe you forgot your power adapter, maybe there isn’t an available outlet.

BEIJING, July 28: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Wednesday rolled out its first laptop, testing the waters in a market that has been flooded with premium tablets.
