KATHMANDU, April 11: Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that those who encroach public land should be socially excluded. Stating that the public land along the river is being encroached under the protection of leaders and parliamentarians, she said that those who do wrong should be publicly boycotted.

KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Stating that the buildings constructed by the Chinese side along a Nepal-China border point in Humla district are situated on the Chinese side of the border, the Embassy of China in Kathmandu has asked Nepali authorities to verify the border points as agreed between the two countries in the past.

10 bigha of school land captured

SURKHET, Feb 20: Nepal Rastriya Primary School in western Surkhet that once had around 10 bighas of land of its own is now shrunk to a small plot. While there is not enough space left even for students to play, the earlier open area is now fully occupied by infrastructures, vegetable and crop farms. In 2006, some locals had decided to give the public land they had been using to the school located at Chyurikhet at Panchapuri Municipality–2, making it one of the spacious schools in the district. According to the school's Principal Dil Bahadur Gharti, the school is now struggling to recover the land.

Locals demand their land back from army

DADELDHURA, Sept 8: A dispute relating to encroachment of land of the locals of Amargadi Municipality-1 by the then Royal Nepalese Army is yet to settle in five decades. The locals have demanded that the army return back 2,436 ropanis of land which belong to them.
