Nepal is in rage and resentment against India after Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on May 8, inaugurated the road linking Dharchula of India with Lipulekh of Nepal. The road had been built without Nepal’s consent.
SURKHET, Feb 20: Nepal Rastriya Primary School in western Surkhet that once had around 10 bighas of land of its own is now shrunk to a small plot. While there is not enough space left even for students to play, the earlier open area is now fully occupied by infrastructures, vegetable and crop farms. In 2006, some locals had decided to give the public land they had been using to the school located at Chyurikhet at Panchapuri Municipality–2, making it one of the spacious schools in the district. According to the school's Principal Dil Bahadur Gharti, the school is now struggling to recover the land.

TIKAPUR, Nov 7: Historical evidences say that a Shivalaya Temple at Tikapur Municipality had 700 bigha of land in the past. However, now it occupies no more than a mere eight kattha land. According to Bidur Kayastha, chairperson of the Shivalaya Temple Protection Committee, there are some documents which prove that the temple earlier had 700 bigha of land. But over the years, it lost the land," he said. "Now, there is no more than eight kattha and 14 dhur of land in its name," he added.
KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel said on Saturday that the government will take back public lands that have been encroached upon over the decades through various means. Speaking after the inaugurating a public park at Dhumbarai in the capital, he said the government was scouring public lands across the country and it would now reassert control over such land.

KAPILVASTU, April 27: Crusher plant operators along the Bandganga riverbank in Kapilvastu district have been reportedly influencing the court to delay the decision on cases related to the encroachment of the land previously occupied by the river.
DADELDHURA, Sept 8: A dispute relating to encroachment of land of the locals of Amargadi Municipality-1 by the then Royal Nepalese Army is yet to settle in five decades. The locals have demanded that the army return back 2,436 ropanis of land which belong to them.
