BIRATNAGAR, Sept 15: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the obstruction of the parliament will continue till the 14 lawmakers against whom the party has taken action are present in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting.

KATHMANDU, August 19: Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has claimed that Chairman of CPN-UML (Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, won’t be able to garner the support of even 10 percent of Central Committee (CC) or Parliamentary Party (PP) members of the party.
KP Oli dissolved parliament unconstitutionally in December 2020 and he had the audacity to repeat the same mistake with the help of the President Bidya Devi Bhandari in May 2021. He was unconditionally supported by a President who in a midnight political drama dissolved the house and called for elections in November 2021 even after the Supreme Court had already declared this move to be unconstitutional.

KP Oli’s tendencies are wholly and growingly anti-democratic. He seems to hold no conception that an MP’s power to vote in parliament is derived from the trust from the sovereign people, and not from the party’s chairman.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Parliamentary Party leader of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli was sworn in again as the Prime Minister on Friday afternoon, four days after he lost the trust vote in the lower house of federal parliament.
It has been exactly 68 days since the Supreme Court paved a way for CPN-UML and the Maoist (Center) to go about their ways. Subsequent effort to review the decision was refused by the Court. The Madhav Kumar Nepal-faction of CPN-UML threatened to resign en masse so that Nepali Congress, the Maoist (Center) and JSP would form a coalition government. Last-minute deals between PM KP Sharma Oli and Nepal prevented the party from splitting, and the CPN-UML government has survived a threat created by its own misdoings.
