Water flow in Koshi River rises up

DHARAN, July 13: The water flow in the Saptakoshi River along the Koshi Barrage has intensified further. With the rising water level, 30 gates out of 55 have been opened.

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Five rivers, Koshi, Kali Gandaki, Arun, Sunkoshi, Tamor, Saptakoshi have exceeded safety levels, according to Nepal Flood Alert issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). The areas at risk include Modi Beni, Simle, Hampachuwar, Mulghat, Chatara.

KHOTANG, May 13: Police have recovered the body of Suman Shrestha, 12, one of the three children, who was swept by the Sun Koshi River on May 5.  Shrestha’s body was retrieved four kilometers away after it was washed ashore. The three children were swept by the river as they swam while herding goats.
