The film ‘The Silhouettes’ won the first prize on international category and won Rs 200,000 in Kathmandu International Film Festival (Kimff). The film ‘The Beloved Daughter’ was the first runner-up and ‘Baato’ won second runner-up position who bagged cash prize of Rs 150,000, and Rs 100,000, respectively.

18th edition of Kimff goes virtual

The 18th edition of the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) is scheduled to be held from December 10 to 14. This year's festival will be 'virtual', according to a statement issued by the organizers on Wednesday.

The 17th edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) concluded with the special screening of movie ‘Heidi’ by Alain Gsponer (Switzerland/Germany) on Sunday. And it celebrated Sir Edmund Hillary’s centennial year with a special screening of ‘The Ascent of Everest’ by Michael, about the conquest of Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa on May 29, 1953, officially marked the opening of the film festival on Wednesday.

With the festival tagline “Voices from the Margins” Kathmandu International Film Festival officially began at City Hall, Bhrikutimandap on Wednesday. This is the 17 th edition of Kimff where, it is celebrating Sir Edmund Hillary’s centennial year and a special screening of ‘The Ascent of Everest’, about the conquest of Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa on May 29, 1953, officially marked the opening of the film festival.

Aspiring actor Kundoon Shakya is debuting on big screen through a short film, ‘Thirsty’ by filmmaker Aneel Neupane.
