JHAPA, April 3: Two new cases of Kala-azar have been confirmed in Jhapa, a district in the Terai region of Koshi Province. Similar cases were reported in the previous years as well.

BAJURA, Nov 14: Cases of Kala-azar (Black Fever) have emerged in Bajura, with 6-year-old Chiring Thapa from Himali Rural Municipality-2 diagnosed with the disease.

KALIKOT, June 30: All five local levels in Kalikot district have recorded Kala-Azar patients this year. Black fever, commonly known as Kala-Azar, is seen mostly in the tropical region of the country but has now spread in the hilly districts as well.

BAJURA, April 13: A fresh case of Kala-azar has been found in Bajura with the beginning of summer. According to the District Hospital Bajura, six-year-old Nima Chhiring of Baudi of Himali Rural Municipality-3 was diagnosed with the parasitic disease.

One dies from Kala-azar in Baitadi

BAITADI, June 23: The kala-azar (black fever) infection has been seen in different areas of the district. According to the health office, eight people have been infected with kala-azar.

KALIKOT, March 5: The disease, seen mostly at Terai region of Nepal, Visceral Leishmaniasis, also commonly known as Kala-Azar, has also started appearing in hilly districts of the country in recent years as transportation from Terai began to come to the hilly regions.
