KATHMANDU, July 23: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an agreement with the government of Nepal to provide a grant assistance of 300 million Japanese Yen (Rs 335 million) for the 5th year of the "School Sector Development Program (SSDP).

Perhaps no single development issue attracted as much attention, controversy and debate in the early nineties as the Arun III Hydro Project, located on the Arun River in Sankhuwasabha district. This project was identified by a JICA reconnaissance study in the Koshi basin, and screened further on the basis of energy capacity, distance from the load centre, accessibility, and rough cost benefit analysis.

KATHMANDU, April 3: With the aim to support the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) to carry out the first-ever National Economic Census scheduled for next month, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided necessary logistics worth Rs 95.1 million to the CBS.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: The newly reconstructed buildings comprising three new blocks with six classrooms, laboratory, ECD, library, lavatories along with other required facilities of Path Pradarshak Secondary School situated in Badikhel, Lalitpur were handed over to the school management today.
