ILAM, Sept 21: A total of 76 prisoners at Illam jail have fallen sick since the last four days.

BAJHANG, July 20: Breaching the law, an inmate serving a jail term on the charge of rape was found carrying a spy pen camera inside the District Prison, Bajhang, police revealed.

Library established at Humla prison

HUMLA, April 7: A library has been established at the district prison. The library was established by the 'Book for Prison campaign' sub-committee. As per the directive of the Prison Management Department, the 'Book for Karnali State prisons campaign' main committee was established chaired by head of Karnali Police Mahesh Bikram Shaha.

HUMLA, April 7: A library with 238 books was established at Humla Jail by the Book Campaign Sub Committee (BCSC) on Saturday. Chief District Officer Dholak Raj Dhakal informed Republica that the library was established with the aim of promoting positive thinking and educating the inmates. The 'Book Campaign' organized by the Community-Police Partnership Program, established the library in Humla after three months since its initiation. A library each was established in the jails of each district of Karnali on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Resham Chaudhary, who is in judicial custody on the charge of masterminding the 2015 Tikapur massacre, has been administered oath of office and secrecy as Member of Parliament on Thursday, more than a year after his election.  Seven policemen including an SSP and a toddler were killed by Tharu protestors in Tikapur of Kailali in August 2015.

SURKHET, May 10: Six years ago, a few Christians from Anugraha Church at Birendranagar Municipality-1 reached the District Prison Surkhet to extend their helping hands . Though they had gone there for providing some food to the prisoners, they have since used the prison as a center for promoting Christianity. They have been successful in doing so and have added hundreds of followers.
