KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The rise in number of invalid votes has piled up pressure on the Election Commission (EC) to overhaul its ineffective voter education program, for which the election body spends billions of rupees.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: The percentage of invalid votes in the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system of the election to the member of House of Representatives is 5.18 on an average throughout the country.

ILAM, Dec 12: Like in the previous elections, there were scores of invalid votes during the recently concluded parliamentary and provincial elections.

GORKHA, Dec 10: With the completion of vote counting in Gorkha district under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category for the parliamentary and provincial elections, rural parts of the district reported higher number of invalid votes. As per the details provided by the District Election Office (DEO), more than 4% of the total votes were invalid in the district.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: A total of 2,409 votes have been counted in Pachthar for the House of Representatives. Of them, 1931 have been counted as invalid. Following the vote counts, Left alliances continue to lead the race by more than 2,000 votes in Pachthar.

KHOTANG, June 19: With the objective of minimizing the number of invalid votes, the District Election Office (DEO), Khotang has added 25 more poll officials for the upcoming local elections scheduled for June 28.
