BHAKTAPUR, Aug 5: Heavy rainfall occurred throughout last night has inundated the settlements of Radhe Radhe and Sallaghari area of Bhaktapur today too. The rains triggered flood in the local Hanumante River, which wreaked havoc in the settlements.
BHAKTAPUR, July 12: Three people who were staying in a temporary shelter at Changunarayan municipality, Bagishwori-07 have died due to floods. However, their names are yet to be ascertained, said Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattta.
SURKHET, May 31: Following continuous heavy rain for three hours, most of the places in Birendranagar faced waterlogged. Jumla Road, Khajura and other places were under water on Thursday afternoon due to the heavy inundation.
The reports of the recent flooding, which are yet to uncover the full extent of the disaster, claim that over one-hundred lives have been lost and hundreds of thousands affected in what is one of the worst rains in 15 years in Nepal. Approximately US $1.3million has been pledged to the flood response in the country, as of data available on August 16.
RAJBIRAJ, Aug 11: Floods have wreaked havoc in Saptari district once again, inundating around 1,500 houses and displacing over 350 families. According to the local level officers, the entire southern part of the district has been submerged in water. They say that Kobsain, Banarjhula, Tilathi, Belhi, Hanumnagar, Kankalini and other areas have been severely affected by the floods.
PHALEBAS (Parbat), July 26: Setibeni bazaar at the border of Parbat, Syangja and Gulmi has been flooded after water level in the Kaligandaki River increased, following torrential rains since Monday noon.
