Interest-free loan scheme for quake victims yet to begin

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Not a single earthquake victim has been able to benefit from the government's scheme of interest-free housing loan of up to Rs 300,000 due to the government's half-hearted approach to the scheme.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: With the government not taking any initiative to implement the promised interest and collateral free loan of Rs 300,000, which is apart from the housing grant of Rs 300,000, the National Reconstruction (NRA) has formally asked the Ministry of Finance to formulate working guidelines without delay for issuing such loan to the victims.
