KATHMANDU, Sept 2: When a full court meeting was underway at the Supreme Court on December 3, 2008, the justices opened a letter dispatched from the Ministry of Law mentioning  two separate taskforces—one headed by Justice Khil Raj Regmi and the other by Justice Kalyan Shrestha --for revising the country’s civil and criminal codes respectively.

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Outgoing tourism secretary Maheshwar Neupane, who has recently been transferred to Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO), has requested his successor Krishna Prasad Devkota not to get influenced by external power while performing his responsibilities at the tourism ministry.

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: CPN (Maoist Center) central leader Balkrishna Dhungel, who has been serving a jail term in the Dillibazaar prison, has accused the Supreme Court of being influenced by the media and human rights activists while imposing life term on him.

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Chairman of the Freedom Forum Hari Binod Adhikari has stated that election supervisor and other employees are influenced by political parties and candidate. He opined that supervisors would be politically appointed and their monitoring could not be effective.
