KATHMANDU: Stocks opened in green on Wednesday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index climbed more than 4 points in the morning session. However, the bourse failed to hang on to its initial gains and traded flat in the afternoon. Stocks came under some pressure toward the end, eventually closing the day 4.98 points lower at 1,140.71 points.
KATHMANDU: The benchmark Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index, which started Wednesday's session at 1,150.74 points, witnessed a sharp rally in the initial trading hour. The index climbed as high as 1,172 points in the morning but gave up most of its gains by mid-session.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: The Nepal Stock Exchange index today increased 7.6 points to close at 1148.78. Likewise, the sensitive index, which measures the performance of class 'A' stocks, also surged 1.64 points to sit at 244.70.

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The multi-dimensional poverty index, which counts deprivation under indicators including sanitation, drinking water, education and health, has halved in 8 years, according to the latest Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) report released by the National Planning Commission on Wednesday.
