BARA, May 28: Three model houses have been built by the Nepal Army at different locations in Bara to guide the army's construction team for the rehabilitation of hundreds of the recent tornado victims.

But it became a real trouble for her after the engineers from the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) asked her to build another house, arguing that her newly-built house was not as per the standards set by the government.

SINDHULI, Feb 10: After months of delay and procrastination, reconstruction of the houses damaged by the 2015 earthquakes was expedited in Sindhuli a few months ago. And surprisingly, houses are already standing high in the district in no time. As soon as the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) fixed the deadline for rebuilding the houses, quake victims kept themselves busy rebuilding their damaged houses, putting aside all other works. After reconstruction, many parts of Sindhuli have worn a similar look with look-alike houses.
Method Consultancy in association with Khwopa Engineering College, Liwali of Bhaktapur did a study on the reconstruction of buildings at Taulachhen Tole, Municipality ward number 9. According to their survey, only 23 buildings damaged due to the 2015 earthquakes out of 227 have been reconstructed.
CHAUTARA, Feb 5: Thirty-five per cent earthquake-affected people in Sindhupalchok district have not yet reconstructed their houses. Sindhupalchok is one of the worst affected districts from the April 25, 2015 devastating earthquake.

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: At a time when earthquake victims are struggling to get subsidized loans from bank and financial institutions (BFIs), the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has introduced working procedure to provide similar concessional credit to the flood victims of Saptari and fire victims of Bhojpur and Terhathum for construction of house and run businesses.
