The university announced the decision on Tuesday at its fifth senate meeting presided over by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chancellor of the university. "Mid-Western University's Senate meeting has decided to present an honorary doctorate to Ghimire," Vice-Chancellor Prof Upendra Kumar Koirala said. "The honorary PhD will be awarded to her at the university's first convocation to be held soon."
