KATHMANDU, May 7: After persistent pressure from student unions, the private schools have finally agreed to refund the hiked fees to the guardians.

BHAKTAPUR, April 27: Unitized Students' Organization has launched a campaign to submit memorandum to all local levels demanding rollback of recently-hiked fees in private schools. The organization today submitted the memo to Bhaktapur Municipality Mayor Sunil Prajapati to this effect.

KATHMANDU, August 19: Dairy farmers who sell milk to Dairy Development Cooperation (DDC) will get Rs 4.14 per liter from the hiked price of milk, while the dairy industries will get only Rs 1.86. DDC had hiked the price of milk by Rs 6 per liter, effective from Thursday.

KATHMANDU, May 26: An agreement signed a month ago between the government and the student unions to reduce illegally increased fees in the private schools has yet to be implemented.

KATHMANDU, April 29: A meeting between the agitating student unions and the Ministry of Education (MoE) on Friday has agreed to reduce within 15 days the fees illegally increased by the private schools. Signing a four-point agreement, the ministry has expressed its commitment to scrap the licenses of those schools that refuse to roll back the fees hiked in violation of the  Education Regulations.

KATHMANDU, March 31: As the banking industry rushes to meet its new paid-up capital requirement by the mid-July 2017 deadline, insurance companies too were told Friday to raise their own paid-up capitals and given about 15 months to do so.
