Climate change poses a grave threat to Nepal due to its geographical location, mountainous terrain, and dependence on climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture and water resources. The melting of glaciers, changes in precipitation patterns, increased frequency of natural disasters, and impacts on livelihoods and biodiversity make it a critical issue for the country.

KATHMANDU, May 30: Nepal is among the countries that are at high risk of climate change due to its geographical topography and geomorphologic characteristics. According to the latest statistics, the annual average temperature of Nepal has increased by 0.056 degrees Celsius.

BAITADI, Aug 28: Baitadi district is at high risk of malaria infection these days. The district has been recording the increasing number of malaria patients in the last three years, according to the Public Health Office, Baitadi's Health Assistant, Santosh Pandey.
