KATHMANDU, Jan 24: With the provincial assemblies getting full shape last week, the newly-appointed governors have started homework for summoning the first provincial assembly meetings in all seven provinces as the constitutional deadline for the same inches closer.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: After the failure to forge consensus with political parties outside the government, the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government has decided to nominate provincial governors and temporary provincial headquarters in consultation with its coalition partners.

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: The government is  in a fix over the appointment of governors and fixing of temporary capitals of the seven provinces as the left alliance of the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) is non-committal about forging an all-party consensus over these issues.
