KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The Inquiry Commission formed to investigate gold smuggling has taken the statement of Chudamani Upreti aka Gore, who is in the Central Jail. The commission took his statement on gold smuggling and related issues.

KATHMANDU, June 11: The Morang District Prison has sent Chudamani Uprety, alias, Gore, SSP Shyam Khatri, Bhujung Gurung and Chiring Bangdel Gurung to Kathmandu. Gore is one of the main accused in 38 kg gold smuggling and murder of Sanam Shakya.

BIRATNAGAR, May 28: Chuda Mani Upreti aka Gore, one of the main accused in the 33.5 kg gold smuggling case, has revealed that he was simply working as a tracker to monitor the 'porters' who smuggled gold for Indian businessmen.

The lower story of the house is rented by two families while the upper storey is unoccupied most of the time. The owner visits the upper story just two or three times a year, carries out some work there and leaves quietly without much interaction with  neighbors or anyone else.
