KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) approved primary shares worth Rs 20.78 billion, of 21 companies, in the last Fiscal Year 2017/18. The capital market regulator allowed the companies to issue a total 192.88 million units of share.
KATHMANDU, July 28: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has transferred Rs 3.66 billion from the government coffers so far in the final month of the Fiscal Year 2017/18. A total of Rs 1.66 billion, the highest amount in single transfer, has been allotted for paying to conflict victims and their families. According to the information of budget transfer made public in the MoF website, the Ministry of Home Affairs is to distribute the amount, ensuring no duplication on such distribution.
KATHAMNDU, June 15: All seven federal provinces have tabled their budgets and programs for the next fiscal year in their respective provincial assemblies. Province 3 has the highest budget amount of Rs 35.61 billion while Gandak Province has tabled a budget of Rs 24.02 billion, the lowest.

BIRGUNJ, Jan 27: Along with increase in import of vehicles set to hit the road as public vehicles, the import of small vehicles such as three-wheeler auto-rickshaws has also increased. The first half of the Fiscal Year 2017/18 saw import of more than 5,000 auto-rickshaws, which is nearly twice the volume of import compared to FY2016/17.

KATHMANDU, July 15: The government has paid out Rs 46 billion in just three days (Thursday to Saturday), according to spending records at the Financial Comptroller General's Office (FCGO) updated at 6:39 p.m. on Saturday. The eleventh-hour bulk payments raised misgivings about the possibility of irregularity and misappropriation. Interestingly, the daily budgetary status was held up for about an hour and was put up again only at 6:39 p.m.
KATHMANDU, May 11: Growth has rebounded strongly in Nepal and has reached 7.5 percent, market price, in FY2017. According to the World Bank’s latest Nepal Development Update This is the highest growth rate since 1994, and is a result, in part, of the low growth in the previous year; one of the best monsoons in recent years; increased availability of electricity; and greater investment as the earthquake reconstruction gathered speed.
KATHMANDU, Aug 17: The Department of Immigration on Tuesday stated that it issued 163,518 visas in the FY 2015/016. Majority of those were tourist visas, a few were business visas and others were non-tourist visas.
