KAPILVASTU, Nov 14: Illegally imported prohibited firecrackers into Nepal were seized and safely destroyed.

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: As the festival of lights is fast approaching, the illegal import of firecrackers are being strictly monitored by the police in the border areas. While the government is taking steps to make the festival safer, police have formed special squads to actively seize the crackers.

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The Metropolitan Police Range (MPR), Kathmandu destroyed firecrackers worth over one million rupees which were confiscated from various places in Kathmandu valley today.

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: In order to make the Tihar festival peaceful and safe, police have launched a campaign to control the smuggling and sales of firecrackers and intensified security checks on roads so as to minimize road accidents.

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Like every year, the cases of confiscation of firecrackers by police have increased with the arrival of Tihar this year. Data maintained by the Police Headquarters, Naxal, shows that the number of firecracker confiscation cases, arrests for smuggling and possessing firecrackers and the number of firecrackers seized during the festive season have doubled over the year.
