KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Continuing its drive to curb firms making rampant use of fake receipts of Value Added Tax (VAT) to evade government revenue, the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) on Sunday filed a case against a firm’s proprietor at Patan High Court.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) on Sunday filed cases at the High Court in Patan against the proprietors of 14 firms on the charge of revenue leakage by using fake value added tax (VAT) receipts.

KATHMANDU, July 2: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) filed cases against three firms on the charge of revenue leakage. The firms were found to be using fake value added tax (VAT) bills to evade the government revenue totaling Rs 406.10 million.

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) on Thursday filed a case against Varun Beverages Nepal Pvt Ltd on the charge of evading tax of Rs 649.60 million through the use of fake VAT (value added tax ) invoices. This is probably the first time that a multinational company has been charged with evading tax with fake VAT bills.

DRI files cases against 50 tax evaders
