KATHMANDU, JULY 4: Member of Parliament from the CPN (Maoist Center) Gopi Bahadur Sarki ‘Achhami’ has said that a separate River Act is needed to stop the erosion of the rivers in the country. Speaking at a special sitting of the National Assembly on Monday, MP Achhami said that excavations were being carried out in rivers haphazardly and illegally.

Why cannot Nepali intellectual community give a clear opinion on pressing political issues? What has led to this intellectual slackening?
