BELBARI, Aug 26: A new species of turtle has been found in Betana Wetland at Belbari in Morang. A team of scientists has discovered that there are more than two dozen Black Softshell turtles, listed as critically endangered.

UDAYAPUR, Dec 14: The endangered Eurasian Eagle Owl, locally known as 'Huchil', is on the verge of extinction in the eastern belt of Udayapur district.

A sloth bear named ‘Dhutru’ was rescued from Lahan Municipality-13, Siraha district on October 21. It was captivated for entertainment purpose.

SIRAHA, June 6: More than a dozen endangered vultures are spotted at Balankhola in the district. The grey vultures are found here for two weeks, said a local Lalit Gupta.

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The police have arrested Dawa Sherpa (21) and Saden Sherpa (26) with skins of tiger and red panda. The duo was awaiting potential buyers at Yellow Gumba of Nagarjun-2 when the Metropolitan Police Division-Swayambhu arrested them on Thursday.

TIKAPUR, Oct 23: Villagers of Bhajani VDC of Kailali district recently found an endangered Indian pangolin and safely released the rare animal in the nearby forest. The locals said they were excited to see the endangered mammal in their village after a long time.

MYAGDI, August 28: Locals of Gurja in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality until recent used to hunt the endangered red pandas due to lack of awareness and identification.  Later, conservation campaigns conducted by various organizations made them realize the importance this rare species.

JARKOT June 17: The white-rumped vulture, an endangered species, has been spotted in Jajarkot district. The species of the scavenger that was disappeared from sight for the past two years, spotted again at Barekot Rural Municipality-1, said Gobinda Singh, life-time member of the Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) and vet technician at the District Livestock Office.

KANCHANPUR, Oct 18: An endangered species of python was found at Musepani locality of Bedkot Municipality – 6 in Kanchanpur on Monday.

DANG, Oct 18: Tek Bahadur KC and Mukta Bahadur Thapa were recently caught by Nepal Police for possessing animal parts. The duo was held by a police team deployed by the regional office of Crime Investigation Bureau. KC and Thapa were in possession of a bag with tiger skin when they were spotted at a hotel at 11 pm in Lalmatiya of Deukhuri.
