KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) benchmark index fell 10.34 points to close at 1,520.15 points on Thursday -- the last trading day of the week. The stocks have slumped amid counting of votes of the recently held elections of federal parliament and provincial assemblies, which is likely to hand over nearly two-third majority to the 'left alliance'.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: The vote count has concluded for the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) for the House of Representatives and provincial Assembly elections on Wednesday.

DHANGADHI, July 11: Outdoing the Nepali Congress (NC), the CPN-UML has managed to become the largest party in Province 7, the home province of Prime Minister and NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba, in the local level elections.

JHAPA, July 10: CPN-UML has emerged as the largest party in the district by winning 461 seats out of 685 representatives in 15 local units.

BIRATNAGAR, July 4: Nepal Loktantrik Forum (NLF) has won both chief and deputy chief  in Budhiganga Rural Municipality in the Morang district.

ILAM, July 4: CPN-UML candidate Nar Bahadur Rai has been elected as the mayor of Suryodaya Municipality.

PANCHTHAR, July 1: CPN-UML candidate Jaya Chemjong has won the race for the chief of Kumyayak Rural Municipality in Panchthar with 3,226 votes, compared to 2,003 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress candidate Bam Lawati.

LALITPUR, May 22:  CPL-UML mayoral candidate Rameswor Shrestha and deputy mayoral candidate Nirmala Thapa have won the election held on May 14.

NAWALPARASI, May 18: Nepali Congress (NC) mayoral candidate Chandra Bahadur Rana has been elected mayor of Madhyabindu Municipality with 10,996 votes, compared to 10,065 votes for his closet rival CPN-UML mayoral candidate Bhim Lal Adhikari.

TANAHU, May 18: Nepali Congress(NC) female candidate Maya Rana has emerged victorious in the race for chief of Myagde Rural Municipality in Tanahu district held on May 14 with 4542 votes, compared to 3461 votes garnered by her closest rival CPN-UML candidate Shree Prasad Shrestha.

KATHMANDU, March 29: The panel led by Tapendra Bahadur Shahi has emerged victorious at the Free Students Union (FSU) election held at the Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus.

It was Dangal all the way at the Filmfare Awards 2017. The film is unstoppable not just at the box office and ticket windows, but even at award dos.
