140 socialist political parties back BDS, embargo on Israel

LONDON, July 9: The Socialist International, or SI, has endorsed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in their call for the rights of Palestinian people. SI, a global alliance of 140 political parties, as well as 35 parties currently in national governments, urged for a military embargo to be imposed against Israel until it ceases its violations against the Palestinian people.

WASHINGTON, Feb 2: The United States is set to announce an arms embargo against South Sudan on Friday, three sources familiar with the decision told Reuters, stepping up pressure against President Salva Kiir to end the country’s civil war and humanitarian crisis.
