CHITWAN, Aug 13: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) here has lost 25 elephants since 2002. Of this number, 15 died of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis was first seen in the elephants in CNP in 2002 and it continued up to 2016.

ITAHARI, Dec 5: Wild elephant attacks have increased in the areas surrounding Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve in recent times. In the last five days, four people living in the areas near the reserve have lost their lives to elephant attacks.
KANCHANPUR, Oct. 26: Wild elephants straying from the Shuklaphanta National Park have gone on rampage, destroying sugarcane farming at Laljhadi rural municipality-4 of Kanchanpur district. A herd of around 20 wild elephants went on a roadrage destroying sugarcane farmlands amounting to more than Rs. 800,000 so far. Farmers said that their calls to concerned authority to resolve the problem have fallen on a deaf ear.
