KATHMANDU, Aug 27: United Nations Secretary-General’s Task Force on Digital Finance on Thursday released a new report titled “People’s Money: Harnessing Digitalization to Finance a Sustainable Future”, spelling out how digital finance can be harnessed in ways that empower citizens as tax-payers and investors in envisaging a digital transformation at scale that better aligns people’s money with their needs, collectively expressed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

KATHMANDU, March 11: Following its decision to transition to electronic payments for social security allowances, the government has decided to expand its pilot testing of the handling of social security funds through a technology-enabled system. With support from the World Bank, through a project called 'Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project', the government has planned to roll this out in at least 25 districts. The five-year project seeks to improve the coverage of social security allowances and civil registration, and the delivery of social security allowances.
KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The World Bank has agreed to provide loan assistance worth Rs 16.371 billion to Nepal to support in digitalization of civil registration records under the Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration.
