OKHALDHUNGA, July 26: Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality in Okhaldhunga has started a campaign to control sandfly, a vector causing Kala-azar. The campaign started in ward 2 Baksa of the rural municipality.
NAWALPARASI, July 3: Locals of Susta, Nawalparasi damaged the Gandak dam to save their crops from being destroyed by the flood. With the Gandak dam partly destroyed, water has flown towards India’s Uttar Pradesh.

KANCHANPUR, Oct. 26: Wild elephants straying from the Shuklaphanta National Park have gone on rampage, destroying sugarcane farming at Laljhadi rural municipality-4 of Kanchanpur district. A herd of around 20 wild elephants went on a roadrage destroying sugarcane farmlands amounting to more than Rs. 800,000 so far. Farmers said that their calls to concerned authority to resolve the problem have fallen on a deaf ear.
