PALPA, June 18: More than half of the women of Siluwa in Purbakhola Rural Municipality-1, prefer delivering their babies at home instead of birthing centers.

TERHATHUM, March 19: With the objective of encouraging women to give births at birthing centers and health institutions, Menchyayem Rural Municipality of Terhathum has decided to increase the motivation allowance for such women. As per the decision, an additional Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 -- depending on the distance of their homes from the birthing centers or health institutions- will be provided to such women.
