Local unit mulls reopening century-old copper mine

GORKHA, June 25: Preparations are being made to reopen nearly a century old out-of-use copper mine in Gorkha district. The mine is located in the jungles of Khanigaun of Palungtar Municipality-8.

MYAGDI, June 1: Dilip Sherchan, the newly elected Chairman of Ward No. 6 of Malika Rural Municipality has said that he would take needful initiative for reopening two copper mines at Bhirkhani of Okharbot in Myagdi district that were closed in 1979.
